Job Description

Springboard Automation is the leading provider of luxury home technology to families in the Greater Philadelphia Area. We specialize in seamlessly integrating smart home systems—including lighting, shading, A/V, networking, and automation—into beautiful homes with precision, care, and world-class service. As we expand into new cities, we’re looking for dynamic team members who can deliver both high-level technical expertise and white-glove service.

We’re hiring a Smart Home Programmer & Field Technician with strong systems and programming expertise and hands-on experience in A/V installation and low-voltage integration. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, programming high-end systems like Savant, Lutron, and Sonos, and still thrives in the field handling installations and on-site challenges.

You’ll play a key role in bringing luxury residential systems to life—from racks and wiring to final programming and client handoff. Every day will look a little different, and you'll work closely with a tight-knit team in a collaborative, problem-solving environment.

Day-to-Day Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Program and configure Savant, Lutron, Sonos, and other home automation systems.
  • Build, test, and troubleshoot smart home systems in both prewire and final install stages.
  • Perform physical installation of TVs, speakers, motorized shades, A/V racks, and network equipment.
  • Run and terminate low-voltage wiring, manage cable infrastructure, and execute detailed fieldwork.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system and connectivity issues in the field.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, and project management teams to deliver high-quality projects on time.
  • Travel to job sites both locally and nationally as required (overnight travel may be occasional but expected).
  • Communicate professionally with clients, builders, and trades to maintain the highest service standards.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Experience programming and configuring Savant, Lutron, Sonos, or similar smart home systems.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills across A/V, lighting, shading, and networking systems.
  • At least 2 years of experience in residential A/V installation and/or home automation.
  • Skilled in low-voltage wiring, cable management, and system buildouts.
  • Knowledge of IP networking, routers, access points, and network configurations is a strong plus.
  • Background in construction, electrical, or carpentry work is helpful.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders up to 12 feet, and work on your feet for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license and comfort traveling to job sites as needed.
  • A detail-oriented, reliable, and client-facing mindset.

Who We Are:

Springboard Automation helps luxury homeowners realize beautiful possibilities, seamlessly integrating technology into the home. We offer a fun and healthy work environment, competitive pay, a full benefits package including health insurance, 401k match, and plenty of room for continued growth and advancement.
