Responsible for strategically expanding the Bank’s reach into diversified Commercial & Industrial (non-real estate) and sponsor backed banking as a trusted advisor to clients and prospects in an assigned region.
Essential Job FunctionsExecutes strategic and tactical plans to ensure development and growth, business development productivity, and financial targets are achieved for assigned region.
Builds successful relationships and develops on-going revenue streams to meet appropriate risk adjusted returns and targeted objectives.
Delivers full bank relationships through effective partner engagements and cross-sells within Bank OZK; drives client referrals to the appropriate partnering lines of business for maximum client effectiveness.
Effectively sources, recruits, develops, coaches, recognizes, manages, and retains top talent; effectively utilizes and champions junior talent.
Builds relationships with staff, clients, and financial partners across the Corporate Banking & Sponsor Finance (“CBSF”), Corporate & Institutional Banking (“CIB”) and broader Bank to target high quality opportunities.
Identifies and informs CIB leadership of impactful changes and acts on all assigned initiatives.
Represents the Bank in approved public relations activities and community affairs.
Regularly exercises discretion and judgement in the performance of essential job functions.
Maintains good punctuality and attendance to work.
Follows Bank policy, procedures, and guidelines.
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of finance and credit analysis.
Comprehensive knowledge of lending activities and terminology.
Knowledge of federal and state lending and compliance regulations.
Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills.
Ability to demonstrate effective leadership presence and credibility.
Ability to demonstrate strong business acumen and business development skills.
Ability to demonstrate critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across functional and organizational groups and build business relationships to achieve the desired objectives of the Bank.
Skill in using computer and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or job-related field, or commensurate work experience, required; Master’s degree in job-related field, preferred.
Successful completion of a formal credit training program or equivalent work experience, required.
Minimum of ten (10) years of work experience in commercial lending, corporate lending, sponsor finance, and/or enterprise value lending, required.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience in strategic planning and in managing, leading, with coaching professionals, required.
