Join Our Team as a Physical Therapist II at Houston Methodist!

Are you ready to make a difference in the lives of patients? At Houston Methodist, we are seeking a passionate and skilled Physical Therapist II (PT II) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will evaluate and develop therapy plans for a diverse range of diagnoses and acuities, with opportunities to specialize in complex patient care through advanced training.

As an experienced therapist, you will not only provide exceptional patient care but also educate patients, their families, and caregivers. Collaborating with an interprofessional team, you will work towards achieving specific patient goals while ensuring adherence to safety standards and guidelines.

Your Responsibilities Include:

• Team Collaboration: Foster healthy relationships and contribute to teamwork by offering assistance and guidance to colleagues.
• Patient Engagement: Utilize therapeutic communication to build relationships with patients and their families, ensuring a collaborative approach to care.
• Education & Mentorship: Teach and guide nursing and support staff, orient new team members, and precept students and clinical fellows.
• Comprehensive Evaluations: Conduct thorough evaluations to determine treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs.
• Quality & Safety: Regularly assess patient progress, modify treatment plans as necessary, and advocate for patients' needs.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient education and procedures, ensuring timely and complete documentation.
• Innovation: Participate in performance improvement projects and identify opportunities for enhancing patient care.

What We’re Looking For:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program.
• Experience: Minimum of two years as a Physical Therapist or completion of a comparable residency program.
• Licenses & Certifications:
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA)
  • PT - State Licensure with the Texas Board of Examiners (Compact license acceptable)
• Skills: Strong assessment, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, along with excellent communication skills.

Working Conditions:

This position requires availability on Fridays from 7 AM to 6 PM, with flexibility to work as needed Monday through Thursday.
