PARK MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR/MONTEREY DISTRICT/ DISTRICT ROADS AND TRAILS SERVICES
Under the general direction of the Park Maintenance Chief III (District Maintenance Chief), the Park Mai ntenance Supervisor (PMS) reports to the District Trail Headquarters unit located at Ishxenta State Park. The PMS will plan, organize, and implement the goals and objectives of the Trails and Unpaved Roads program for Monterey District. This position manages, allocates implements, and monitors the trail allocations and expenditures to ensure efficient and appropriate program implementation of the Department's goals to manage a trail system that is safe, minimizes resource impacts, and reduces long term maintenance deficiencies. The PMS will coordinate and implement trail and road related funding from a variety of funding sources; this may include but is not limited to category I maintenance funds, special grants, and deferred maintenance. This position will also support the implementation of the Department's trails policy which includes the development of trail management plans for field units.

This position will work outside in remote work locations during seasonally inclement weather. Extensive walking to and from work sites is required as well as walking/hiking in areas that are undeveloped. May encounter a variety of wildlife while out in the field.
