GENERAL FUNCTION:

Coverage of private equity firms and alternative asset managers investing in the TMT sector. Focus on building relationships with key decision makers leading to M&A advisory, leveraged finance, and other commercial banking engagements. Develop strategies for over 30 sponsor clients, collaborating with sector deal partners, capital markets professionals, and senior management. Originate and oversee execution of lead financing transactions for high-value portfolio companies, working closely with sector teams and product partners across capital markets and banking platforms.

Responsible for risk management by adhering to policies, raising concerns, and ensuring actions benefit customers and colleagues, maintaining a positive customer experience. Operate within the bank's risk appetite, consistently assessing and managing all types of risks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage relationships with over 30 financial sponsor clients in the TMT sector.
  • Position Fifth Third Bank as a trusted advisor through strategic engagement with clients.
  • Partner with industry coverage and product bankers to prospect, pitch, and execute high-value M&A and financing transactions.
  • Generate revenue across capital markets and banking, including M&A advisory, leveraged finance, capital markets, fund finance, and treasury.
  • Lead teams in originating and executing transactions, ensuring timely and successful outcomes.
  • Engage with the broader Financial Sponsors Group to promote best practices.
  • Maintain client relationships through regular meetings and business development efforts.
  • Track efforts and outcomes using CRM systems; travel may be required for client meetings.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

May include supervising junior staff and providing performance feedback, fostering career development, and offering growth opportunities.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • 15+ years of experience with private equity firms in investment banking, M&A, or capital raising.
  • Proven track record in client relationship development and originating new business.
  • Ability to lead multiple deal teams across various product capabilities.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client engagement skills.
  • Experience developing analysts and associates.
  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree (MBA or JD) preferred.
  • FINRA Series 79 and 63 licenses required.
